2026 season

F1 2026 calendar: cancelled and new races and the date of every GP

Bahrain and Saudi Arabia were cancelled because of the Middle East conflict and the calendar changed: here is the season round by round.

⏱ Race dates per Formuradar's data; the calendar may change. See Schedule for the sessions.

The 2026 Formula 1 calendar has been one of the most turbulent in recent years. It was presented with 24 races, but the conflict in the Middle East forced the cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix, and the championship was cut to 22 dates. From there, the season's real calendar has had changes that should be separated from simple forecasts.

The Bahrain and Saudi Arabia cancellations

On 14 March it was announced that the Bahrain (10-12 April) and Saudi Arabian (17-19 April) races would not be run. According to ESPN and Yahoo Sports, they were cancelled rather than postponed, so no alternative date was sought at that moment and the season was shortened. The Formula 2, Formula 3 and F1 Academy rounds planned for those weekends were not run either.

What our data hold: 23 rounds

Formuradar's database, fed by Jolpica/Ergast, holds 23 rounds for 2026. Among them is round 16, "Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia", at Sepang on 4 October, and the Spanish GP in Madrid (round 14, 13 September). We have not found a press source explaining how and when the Sepang race was added, so we present it as it appears in the data and do not go into the reason.
