The countries with the most drivers

Britain is the largest delegation, with five drivers: Bearman, Hamilton, Norris, Russell and Lindblad. France contributes three (Gasly, Hadjar and Ocon) and Spain two, Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz. Between the three countries they hold ten of the 22 places, almost half the grid.

Twelve countries, one driver each

The rest of the grid is very diverse: Canada (Stroll), Netherlands (Verstappen), Finland (Bottas), Germany (Hülkenberg), Italy (Antonelli), Mexico (Pérez), Monaco (Leclerc), New Zealand (Lawson), Argentina (Colapinto), Thailand (Albon), Australia (Piastri) and Brazil (Bortoleto). Leclerc is listed as Monegasque, an unusual nationality in the sport, and Albon as Thai, the one he uses in F1 although he was born in London.

A note on the data: Arvid Lindblad's nationality is not in our driver database, and we take it from driver-market coverage, which describes him as British.
